An Alberta woman at the centre of a court case over her request for a physician-assisted death has died with the help of a doctor.
The woman known as E-F in court documents suffered a mental condition called severe conversion disorder which had left her effectively blind, unable to eat and in constant pain.
Trista Carey, the woman's lawyer, says E-F passed away peacefully earlier this week in Vancouver, surrounded by her family and good friends.
Last month an Alberta Court of Queen's Bench judge allowed her an assisted death, but the federal government appealed the decision, which was later upheld by the Alberta Court of Appeal.

There is no mention of the names of doctor and/or doctors nor judge and/or judges that would basically be having full power of the kill…that people wishing death in Canada has the taxpayers paying and in the USA they would hire the good people of the Mob!
It is and/or was bad enough to find out that The Canadian Medical Protective Association –(CMPA) is an organization headquartered in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, that provides legal defence, liability protection, and risk management education for physicians in Canada, and provides compensation to patients and their families proven to have been harmed by negligent clinical care. The organization was founded at the 1901 annual meeting of the Canadian Medical Association. The CMPA was incorporated by Act of Parliament on 27 February 1913, and given Royal Assent on 16 May 1913. Most Canadian doctors are members of the CMPA: in 2012 86,000 physicians were members –have the doctors knowing, as with my wife (twice, all of 1989 and too the year of 2001) they can kill people – as too why (in my opinion) Dr. Bannon and Colleen moved to PEI in 2003!
Dr. Bannon reflecting on his good fortune to marry an Islander (give up possible half million a year income) and for the past ten (13 now) years to be able to claim PEI as his home have three children…whereby he pays 1,000$ a year and taxpayers pay the remainder of his small malpractice insurance of 7,000$ that enables him too kill or injure a patient and he can go home to a nurse and 3 kids in Kensington, Prince Edward Island and get or be drunk and/or high on / of drugs with nurses in / at Prince County Hospital ignoring (as in my case of a colonoscopic examination that any potato and/or bread plugs me. He admitted he had concern that my hole was to be forever plugged; but, Heather’s father covers for him, Dr, C. Moyse!) he is in OR under the influence!
Dr. Bannon was Chief of Surgery and member of Local Medical Advisory Committee (LMCA) at Prince County Hospital and also a member of the Provincial Medical Advisory Committee (PMAC) since its inception. He has been active on several provincial committees looking at ways to improve the surgical care of our Islanders. After his inauguration Dr. Bannon has made the decision to divest himself from those responsibilities and devote his energy solely to the position of President of the Medical Society of PEI.
Drugs too keep up…kills patients and doctors cover; now how many more deaths in Canada…who is next?
